Grocery shopping. Some people love it and some people don’t, but the truth is we all must do it no matter what category you fall into, right? Luckily, we just got another option for grocery shopping that is just a few lights away located on Marlboro Pike. A grocery store named Lidl that’s actually pretty fun to shop as long as you remember to bring your own bags!
This Lidl is one of seven new supermarkets opened in Maryland recently. Originating as a European company, Lidl came to the US in 2015 and stores have been popping up ever since. What makes it different from other supermarkets are the often-lower price point of items without the sacrifice of quality. The layout is simple, it’s not huge, and it has most of the things that you’d buy at any grocery store; produce, meats, vegetables, condiments, etc. Most products are private label and they have a large organic selection which many people love. They even sell household products! It’s great because you typically spend less time in here than you would at a larger store, and less money also in our opinion. You do have to provide your own (recyclable) bags but you can purchase them at the store as well.
Living in Parkside, this is a great addition to the grocery stores we have such as Safeway, Giant, and Food Lion in Upper Marlboro and Shoppers in Forestville. Even though the address says District Heights, it’s physically the closest of all the stores!
We hope for all of you who aren’t a fan of grocery shopping this new addition helps you out a bit. You’ll also be happy to know that Postmates and Shipt will deliver from here to your door!
