This week marks the beginning of Fall 2018. The year is flying by as we are less than 3 months away from Christmas! As the days become increasingly shorter, it’s time to maximize the daylight and have some “Fall Fun” with your family and friends.

A great place to visit during this time of year is Montpelier Farms, a historic working farm that’s existed since 1673. Located off Crain Highway, this farm features a Fall Festival from September thru November 4th. Fun activities include pumpkin patch picking, corn maze, hay rides, pumpkin bowling, a bounce house, and more. This is a wonderful place for the entire family to spend the day.

Another great place to take the kiddies is Queen Anne Farm in Mitchellville, Md. Operating since 1983, this family owned farm grows fresh vegetables and pumpkins, which you can pick after a hayride to the patch. You can also purchase fall deocrations for both inside and outside of your home in their store. Fall fashion is not just for clothes, many people love to decorate their homes for fall as well!

For older kids, they might enjoy Fright by Night at Six Flags America. With an amusement park so nearby, it’s always a great resort for weekend fun throughout the year during their special events. Fright Night is on certain days between September 22 thru October 28. Featuring haunted houses and scare zones, this event is for children 13 years of age and up.

Another well kept secret right in Parkside’s backyard is the Calvert Brewing Company. This is a great fall fun place to visit for adults only, and man’s best friend is welcome certain days of the month. They feature beer of course, but also hold fun events such as yoga with goats, yoga and beer, and tours of the brewery. This is one of Maryland’s largest and most established craft breweries, with their main production facility, complete with a large taproom, located in Upper Marlboro.

Fall is a great time to have fun!
