Holiday Things to Do Near Parkside Westphalia

In the midst of the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, don’t forget to take time out to enjoy what matters, spending quality time with loved ones! There are a few fun things you can do with the ones you love near Parkside Westphalia between now and the new year. Here are a few favorite things, all located in the Upper Marlboro area.

Visit the Festival of Lights at Watkins Regional Park. It’s a drive-through winter wonderland with over 2.5 million lights throughout the park, including a giant 54-foot musical tree. It’s lit! There’s so much to see and the whole family will enjoy this event and you don’t even have to leave your car.  Find out more here!

Another awesome place to visit close to home is Six Flags America in Upper Marlboro, MD for it’s annual Holiday in the Park event. There’s entertainment, treats, and favorite characters that children love all dressed up for the Holiday. Find out more about this event that takes place on select nights in December here.

A few miles away from Parkside is Christmas at the Gaylord National Resort, located in the National Harbor, that includes ICE!, an award-winning main attraction winter wonderland of hand-sculpted ice. 40 artisans from Harbin, China helped create this spectacular exhibit using over two million pounds of ice blocks. This year’s theme is “A Charlie Brown Christmas”. When attending, remember to dress warm because in order to keep all of this ice cold it’s only 9 degrees inside! There’s also ice-skating, a holiday carousel, a gingerbread decorating corner, and access to a Build-A-Bear workshop where kids can design their own presents.

Find out more about these events here!

Also happening in the National Harbor is a nightly light show that continues each night through the holiday season. There’s also a beautiful huge Christmas tree that serves as a wonderful photo opp!

There are so many fun things to do near Parkside Westphalia throughout the year, but especially this time of year! It’s the most wonderful time of year. Happy Holidays!
