We are bringing in the spring a little different this year due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Practicing social distancing, having school out for an indefinite time, and working from home or not at all…is a new reality for many of us. In spite of all of this change, one thing remains the same- the seasons. And in spite of all of the news around us, spring has sprung and it’s looking quite good in the neighborhood!
Since the kids are home now is a good as time as ever to take them outside for ”nature walks”. Show them the newly budding sprouts and identify uncommon flowers that are right here in our neighborhood. Social distancing doesn’t mean not going out and getting some fresh air!
Most students are involved in distance learning at school, and PG County also has supplemental enrichment packets for Pre-K – 12th grade. The packets are available from March 18 – March 27 and can be found here. They aren’t for extra credit, just a supplement to what is already being provided by instructors during this time.
Most importantly for the children in PG County, there are meal sites set up so no child misses a meal just because school isn’t in session. Breakfast, lunch and a snack will be available weekdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following locations found here.
