It seems like forever since we’ve seen any green on the many trees in Parkside Westphalia but this week, spring has sprung! When taking just a short walk through the neighborhood there is so much new life to see. From colorful flowers in neighbors’ yards, the tall budding trees, the visiting deer and residential geese, life is buzzing with the newness of the season. Finally, spring!

It’s so much fun to see the family of geese each year. Do you know that adult pairs of geese usually stay together for life unelss one dies? And lone geese will find another mate. Young geese will stay with their family group for about one year. Since they like to build their nests on the ground near water its no wonder that Parkside is such a neighborly community for them to reside! Just remember to slow down when you see them while driving in your car as geese always have the right away.

The trees and bushes have been bare for what seems like forever but not anymore, you can finally see the budding leaves dressing the trees more and more each day.

Make sure you get outside and enjoy some of this wonderful spring!
