As we approach the holiday season, eating great food and being surrounded by family is the usual tradition. What often seems to follow a month of comfort eating and fun is the new year resolutions that typically include going to the gym. As we wait for the Parkside community clubhouse to open in 2019, there is no reason to put off your resolutions and desire to stay active in the meantime!

There is a newly renovated Prince George’s County Community Center less than 2 miles away from Parkside that features a community lounge, fitness room, multipurpose room, NFL Play 60 Obstacle Course, an outside tennis court, and an awesome playground. The Westphalia Community Center welcomes the public and there are activities for children, teens, and seniors. Open Monday – Thursday from 9am to 9pm, the center closes early on Fridays at 7pm for the Xtreme Teens program which takes place on Friday and Saturday from 7pm – 10pm. Saturday hours are from 9am to 2pm, and Sunday is 12pm to 4pm.

There are hours for youth and teen open gym as well as parent and youth open gym, ages 6-17. There are also scheduled classes for yoga and Zumba!

This is a great option for a close to home workout and all-around family fun. Not to mention the neighbors you’ll meet here! You can now relax while Parkside Westphalia’s clubhouse is built and hang out here whenever you need to.
